Workout plays a very crucial role in everyone's life. You can do exercises at home or by going to the gym. But when you think of going to the gym for a workout, it is essential to wear clothes that are flexible & can be easily adjustable & breathable. It is necessary to wear gym clothes that make you look good, but always remember that fitness and safety are your foremost concerns.
Tight & hard to fit clothing can cause itchy skin, rashes, or more severe injuries which will lead you not to focus on your workout sessions. You always think of other problems you are going to face but cannot concentrate on the gym & exercise.
How to dress for the gym –
Bring appropriate footwear: When you go to the gym, it's essential to wear proper footwear. If you plan to do any cardio, then bring shoes that offer protection for both your feet and legs. If you are running on a treadmill, then make sure to bring running shoes. If you are doing weights & push-ups, make sure to wear something arch support.
Choose a lightweight t-shirt or sweatshirt:It is essential to wear a breathable material like cotton or polyester. It helps you do your workout efficiently because when you do exercise, you will feel some heat and sweat. It is beneficial not to wear those clothes which trap the heat.
Pick your bottoms: Always wear some flexible gym clothes with an elastic waistband, gym shorts, sweatpants, track pants, or yoga pants. Your leg workout is not that easy to do. These clothes help you to perform the range of leg workouts. Shorts allow you flexibility & sometimes you’re your skin. If you feel shy in shorts, it is always preferable to wear sweats or yoga pants.
Carry a towel: Taking a towel along with you when you think of a gym. Always carry a soft and clean towel to wipe your sweat away. Don’t leave your sweat on machines or benches where you perform the exercise for the comfortability of others as well. Most gyms provide clean towels to their members during their workouts. Please don't share your towel with anyone as it creates the risk of sharing germs.
Wear lightweight, breathable socks: When you go to the gym & wear shoes, it is always advisable to wear thin socks. Generally, Cotton socks are considered as one of the right choices. Make sure that the socks are neither too tight nor too loose else you will feel inching during your workout sessions. Wear high socks or low socks, but avoid wearing tight socks. Mostly, short socks allow your legs more space to breathe & high socks help you to let your sweat away, but tight socks can constrict your legs and slow your blood circulation.
When to wash your workout clothes –
It is your gym day, but you haven't done your laundry yet. It is good to wash your gym clothes within 2-3- hours of coming back from the gym with a good detergent. Let your sweat gets dry so that detergent possibly removes the bacteria & stinky sweat smell rightly.
Bacteria usually tend to grow better & faster on clothes made of polyester rather than cotton clothes. Still, it is a crucial aspect & a good idea to wash your clothes just after the gym regularly to avoid any infection.
Always try to wear some comfortable fitting clothes while going to the gym. It helps you to perform your workout session with ease & confidence & without any inching. It is good to wash your gym clothes with hot water & with enough laundry detergent to keep you safe from any bacterial infection.
